Kala Ghoda Festival

Recently I had been to the Kala Ghoda Festival, Mumbai. It is held every year this month. It is a creative treat for everyone. This festival includes artistic stuffs like Handicrafts, sculptures, furnitures, T-shirts hand painted with calligraphic compositions, bags, books, food.......the list is endless. There are stalls erected on both the side of the road and the traffic is closed during this period. A proper stage is erected for live music shows and plays. It goes on for some 10 day or so.
I am sharing with you some of the snaps i took there, so that you all can get a glimpse of the festival.

This huge installation caught everyones eye. It depicts a human mosquito. It was made from metal wire wound around a iron structure to support it.

This big boot had small small shoes and chappals stuck over it.

Take a closer look.....

This small table was made with the help of painting elements as a theme.
You can see the wooden frames, brushes and the color pallette used.
Non polluting cars.... this run on batteries.

This one came straight from kashmir...

This was a actual giant wheel used as a installation. The cycles here are symbolicaly used to show the dabba wallahs of mumbai.

These cycles were the real one with the dabbas on there rears.

Some more installations..

Many foreign tourist visit this festival. Some make it more memorable this way.

These were a row of creative installations showing the evil addictions in our society.

Anti Smoking...
This shows about the internet mania which is grappling the youth of today.

This one was against betting, gambling etc..

I liked this one. As you can see there was this man sitting with aremote in his hand in front of a TV. It shows the television addiction that has spread in the society. The Bhompu inserted in his ears clearly shows how TV has deprived the peace in our life by hammering the Saas Bahu serials and cheap Breaking news on common man. The background wall was painted with a chakkar revolving and all the satellite channed logos on it.

This one was against Shopaholics.

Anti boosing...
Anti drugs....
So that was all..
Bye
